The
Colonial Golf Club - Golf
Digest claims it as a "top ten Virginia
public course", and it has been ranked
by other sources as number 2 in Virginia. Open
year-round, Colonials 18 hole, par-72 course
is a traditional wooded layout featuring five
boxed tees, offering a "fair but challenging
experience" for all.
The Golf Club at Brickshire
The newest addition to the Williamsburg
golf scene, designed by Tom Clark in
association with two-time U.S. Open Champion
Curtis Strange, the course emulates
some the greatest holes in golf including August
#3, Riviera #10, Pinehurst #11 and St. Andrews
#14.
The
Tradition at Royal New Kent - Modeled
after Northern Ireland's Royal County Down,
this New Kent County course is unlike any other
layout in the region. As one of the most challenging
courses, Royal New Kent has been singled out
for its superb greens, starting holes, course
design and difficulty, and the list goes on.
New Kent was selected by Golf Digest in 1997
as the best new upscale course and is currently
rated in their top 100 list. Tee-time reservations
suggested.
The
Tradition at Stonehouse - Opening a
year earlier than the Royal New Kent (1996),
this legendary sibling also garnered the title
of the Best New Course of the Year! The dramatic
design of Mike Strantz's James City County
course is a pure work of art and has decidedly
changed the way people talk about golf in Virginia!
